Robert Stevenson has over 29 years of litigation experience including trial work, ANDA matters and the preparation of ANDA opinions. His practice includes drafting and prosecuting patents in the biotechnological, chemical, medical device, diagnostic, polymer and pharmaceutical arts. He prepares Paragraph IV Certifications for submission to the FDA with ANDA filings, and also Paragraph IV Certification Notice Letters. Mr. Stevenson has been involved in the prosecution of inter partes reexaminations and prosecutions before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Stevenson was Senior Strategic Patent Counsel for Rohm and Haas where he was involved in world-wide patent procurement and U.S. and Chinese patent litigation. He has also served as Vice President and Assistant Secretary of Cell Pathways (now part of OSI Pharmaceuticals), a pharmaceutical company specializing in small molecule and new biological targets for the treatment of cancer. Earlier in his career, he was Senior Patent Counsel to Abbott Laboratories. His private practice experience includes serving as a partner and former chair of the Pharmaceutical and Biotech Practice Group of Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, a prominent Chicago patent law firm. A past adjunct professor of Patent Law at DePaul University School of Law, Mr. Stevenson is a member of the Pennsylvania and Illinois State Bars and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. A graduate of Penn State (with distinction B.S. 1977), he received his Masters Degree in Engineering from the University of Michigan (M.S. 1979) and his law degree from Wayne State University (J.D. 1982).
