Mr. Gornish’s practice involves all aspects of intellectual property law, with a particular emphasis on patent litigation and prosecution. His litigation practice is largely focused on pharmaceutical patent infringement lawsuits arising under the Hatch-Waxman Act. Mr. Gornish also has experience litigating non-pharmaceutical patents, and has been involved in litigation matters concerning other types of intellectual property as well, including actions for copyright infringement, trademark infringement and unfair competition. Mr. Gornish’s patent prosecution practice is geared primarily towards mechanical and electro-mechanical devices and systems in a variety of fields. He counsels independent inventors and small businesses, as well as large companies, on issues of patentability and patent infringement, as well as trade secret, trademark and copyright protection. A registered patent attorney, Mr. Gornish is a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bars. Mr. Gornish received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University and his law degree from Temple University School of Law. While at Drexel, he worked for two years as an engineering intern for a leading global medical device company, designing implants and instruments for orthopedic and spine surgery. Mr. Gornish’s technical background renders him well suited to assisting clients in the medical field. He has written several published articles and has given talks and interviews on the topic of patenting medical devices and methods.
